Publisher One or Eight and developer Team EarthWars have revealed their upcoming game, Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL. It’s an action RPG where you build a village, and it’s planned to launch on Steam in 2026. PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions will follow in 2027.
In the game Warota, you play as someone brought back to life by a goddess with the goal of restoring the town of Luna. There’s a catch: you live near a Demon King who’s also a popular performer, and his concerts attract dangerous demons! The gameplay combines the relaxing aspects of building up a town with the excitement of action RPG battles.
So, I saw on the Steam page that the developers used AI to get a first draft of the translations for the game. But don’t worry, they didn’t just leave it at that! A real person went through and polished everything up afterwards, which is good to hear.

Story
I was reborn into a new life, and unbelievably, my new home is right next to the Demon King’s castle! A goddess saved me and sent me to Luna, a world in ruins after the Demon King took control. Now, as a Bounder – someone with the unique ability to create things – I have to help rebuild everything that was destroyed.
Repair your home, build relationships with others, farm your land, and expand your village. But be warned: one night, monsters will suddenly attack. They declare this world as their own and unleash chaos. The ‘Live’ event has begun, and your village is directly in the path of destruction.
Grow your village by collecting resources and crafting useful items like furniture and buildings – there are over 30 different structures you can create! As you expand, more villagers will come to join you, making your village and your strength increase.
In this world, your hat isn’t just an accessory – it unlocks your abilities! The hat you choose defines your Class, letting you play as anything from a simple Farmer to a powerful Mage. With over 20 different Classes to pick from, you can find a playstyle that fits you perfectly.
Give your villagers hats to assign them jobs and bring your village to life! Farmers will grow crops, cooks will prepare food, and sentinels will protect everyone from monsters. Once they have a job, they’ll work independently, and you can even bring them along on your adventures – each villager is a helpful companion with unique skills!
Customize your combat approach with divine powers! Find Goddess Statues throughout the world and pray to receive powerful blessings. These blessings can improve your attack strength, speed up healing, add elemental damage, and offer other benefits. Combine different blessings to create a unique fighting style that suits you.
Protect your village from the Demon King’s concerts! It turns out your neighbor isn’t a person, but the Demon King’s castle! Whenever he performs a ‘Live’ show, waves of monsters attack. Work together with your fellow villagers to build strong defenses and fend off the monster hordes. By defeating powerful bosses, you’ll uncover the secrets of this strange world.
