Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy Uncrustables cold, right from the refrigerator – no more waiting for them to thaw!
Uncrustables are a well-loved snack that consists of popular breakfast fillings – like peanut butter and jelly, strawberry, raspberry, and chocolate – sealed inside soft bread.
Currently, these products need to be frozen and thawed before you eat them, but that will no longer be the case starting this summer.
The brand says their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches now stay fresh in the fridge for up to five days, so you can enjoy them anytime.

Uncrustables is undergoing a huge improvement to be more fridge-friendly
This update aims to improve the experience for fans who prefer a quick snack and don’t want to wait for sandwiches to become soft enough to eat.
According to Jessica Fair, Marketing VP at The J.M. Smucker Company, the company has made all of its bread products designed to be eaten straight from the fridge. This means customers can enjoy their Unbeatably Soft Bread and favorite flavors immediately, without needing to thaw them first.
Following the launch of Up & Apple and Bright-Eyed Berry flavors in late 2025, Uncrustables now offers options with more protein. These new flavors also have a longer fridge life – they stay fresh for up to five days.

We can also look forward to new flavors in 2026, including Burstin’ Blueberry, which is expected to launch in the spring.
Uncrustables isn’t alone in innovating breakfast options. Cinnamon Pebbles has also joined the trend, partnering with Bones Coffee Company to create a coffee flavored like the milk left after eating the cereal.
