Two video games, both called “Piece by Piece,” were surprisingly released just two days apart – one on March 11th and the other on March 13th. The developers of both games didn’t realize the coincidence until after they were both launched, and a search on Steam initially made it appear as though there was a mistake.
When both teams discovered the coincidence, they all agreed it was amusing. Instead of seeing it as a problem, the developers decided to work together and offer a bundle so players could enjoy both games.
Piece by Piece devs release bundle to celebrate name duplication
The Piece by Piece Double Bundle lets players buy both Piece by Piece games together at a 10% discount, giving them the option to experience both titles.
Even though both games share the same name, Piece by Piece offers distinct experiences with different concepts and how you actually play them.
Piece by Piece is a calming puzzle game where you restore beautiful scenes. You’ll start with broken fragments and gradually fit them together, revealing complete pictures that tell little stories as you go. It’s a relaxing experience focused on rebuilding environments, piece by piece.
The other game, also called Piece by Piece, takes a different approach, focusing on storytelling. Instead of building things, players run their family’s repair shop and can freely fix items, paint, cook, and decorate. Despite sharing a name, the two games offer very distinct experiences.
Because the developers recognized the fortunate timing, players can now purchase both games together in the Piece by Piece Double Bundle, which is currently 10% cheaper than buying them individually.
