Twitch streamer Nina Lin blames Asmongold after she was arrested for stealing $4 scissors

Twitch streamer Nina Lin claims she was arrested and spent the night in jail for shoplifting a $4 pair of scissors, and she’s accusing another streamer, Asmongold, of being responsible.

Nina Lin has repeatedly faced issues with theft while live streaming. She was previously banned from broadcasting in late 2025 after being caught shoplifting at Target.

In 2026, she was arrested for shoplifting scissors, but she claims it was a complete mistake.

Lin told her viewers that she accidentally didn’t scan a pair of scissors at self-checkout because she was in a hurry and couldn’t easily find the barcode.

Lin accidentally skipped scanning an item while checking out, and it caused her a lot of trouble.

Nina Lin blames Asmongold after shop staff wanted her jailed for stealing

Lin said she spoke with a police officer who thought it was just an honest error. However, a store employee still insisted she be taken to the police station.

“Normally in these cases, we just bring you back and you scan these items, but the guy wants you in the precinct,” she recalled the officer saying.

Lin claimed the shop employees were watching Asmongold, who had previously publicly commented on her streams.

Nina Lin shared that she was arrested and spent a night in jail after forgetting to scan a $4 pair of scissors at a store. The store owner could have simply allowed her to pay, but instead insisted the police arrest her for shoplifting. She jokingly commented, “That’s how I know that guy watches Asmongold!”

Honestly, when he said that, it was a dead giveaway he’s one of those guys who watches Asmongold. And let me tell you, it instantly made me think, ‘Wow, this person is… different.’ It was just a really strange thing to say!

Nina explained that she would have happily paid for all the scissors if someone had just asked her to scan them correctly, and emphasized that she had no intention of stealing anything.

The streamer explained she was arrested and spent the night in jail, and she’ll have a court date sometime in the future.

It’s not unusual for content creators to face legal issues related to shoplifting. For example, a TikToker in Florida was arrested repeatedly after stealing from Target and then publicly showing off her stolen items in a video.
