To promote safe practices during the FIFA World Cup, the city of Toronto is giving away free condoms decorated with soccer designs.
When the 2026 FIFA World Cup begins on June 11th, fans from around the world will be heading to the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Canada will host games in Toronto and Vancouver. Toronto, the country’s largest city, will be the site of matches including those featuring Germany, Croatia, and Ghana, among other teams.
So, Toronto’s getting ready for a big event, and they’re actually handing out free condoms! They’re saying it’s to help fans stay safe and, uh, avoid any unexpected little teammates. Pretty responsible of them, honestly!

Toronto Public Health is giving away free condoms featuring a soccer theme at city sexual health clinics.
“Get ready to score safely. Don’t pass up protection,” they captioned the post.
Great news, Toronto! CondomTO is back with a fun, new campaign to promote safe sex. You can now find six soccer-themed condoms at Toronto Public Health’s four Sexual Health clinics, but they’re available while supplies last, so get yours soon! #condomTOhhhh #SexualHealth

The condoms have some playful designs, like an eggplant playfully kicking a soccer ball past a peach acting as the goalie. Some are printed with fun phrases like “block those shots” and “what a finish.”
I saw this cool post from the city and wanted to share! They’re reminding everyone – whether you’re at a soccer game, a party, a festival, or just hanging out – to protect yourself and your partner(s) with condoms. And it’s not just condoms, they’re also giving out other stuff to help keep things safe, which is awesome!
It’s fairly common to distribute condoms at large sporting events, and the Olympics have done so for years – they’ve even become something of a talking point. Rugby player Ilona Maher jokingly shared that she uses them as a way to playfully show she’s in control in relationships.
While condoms have gotten attention for World Cup tie-ins, they aren’t the only product celebrating the event. Earlier this month, BuzzBallz introduced eight special, limited-edition SoccerBallz cocktails to mark the World Cup.
Some companies are getting creative for the World Cup! For example, FOX is offering someone $50,000 to work as their “Chief World Cup Watcher” – basically getting paid to watch every game of the tournament.
