Fans are always eager for more Spider-Man, and for good reason. Tom Holland’s performance as Peter Parker is incredibly popular and breaking records for Sony and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And with the new movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, still on the way, his success is only expected to grow.
With the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026, people are revisiting Tom Holland’s earlier Spider-Man movies, which have collectively earned over a billion dollars.
Let’s talk numbers, because Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy is a massive success. We’re looking at almost $4 billion worldwide in ticket sales, and that doesn’t even include money made from people renting or buying the movies digitally. Plus, just when you thought its run was over, Spider-Man: No Way Home is back at the top of the Disney+ charts, knocking the new Star Wars series, Maul – Shadow Lord, out of the number one spot. It’s a serious box office and streaming powerhouse!
Both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home are popular again, currently ranking at No. 5 and No. 8 on the streaming service. This resurgence comes as Tom Holland’s newest film is about to be released, making him a dominant force on the platform.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Is a Money Machine
Tom Holland’s first appearance as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was a huge moment, happening during the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War. He was introduced by Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark and famously took Steve Rogers’ shield, earning a big reaction from audiences. This was especially exciting because, for a long time, complicated studio agreements had kept Spider-Man out of the MCU.
Tom Holland truly made a splash with his debut as Spider-Man in the 2017 film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. The movie was a huge success, earning over a billion dollars and solidifying his place as the definitive Spider-Man for a new generation.
- 2017 – Spider-Man: Homecoming – $880 million
- 2019 – Spider-Man: Far From Home – $1.13 billion
- 2021 – Spider-Man: No Way Home – $1.92 billion
Since then, his success has continued to grow. He finished his initial series of three films and then signed on to create another three, beginning with Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Will Own the Summer for Marvel
Despite all his successes with his first three movies, Tom Holland is most excited for audiences to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day when it comes out this summer, and he’s fully confident it will be his best work yet.
“I have to say I’m so proud of the movie,” Holland said. “I sound biased, .”
Tom Rothman, head of Sony Pictures, also believes the film will be surprisingly good. He predicts it will be a fantastic movie overall, and a truly exceptional Spider-Man installment, praising Destin Daniel Cretton’s work as director.
Rothman is likely right, and when you consider the hopes for Spider-Man: Brand New Day alongside the anticipated 2027 release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, it’s clear there are a lot of Spider-Man projects in the works—and likely, even more to come.
