Kpop fans baffled as new group with male pregnancy concept says it’s “coming soon”

Kpop fans are puzzled by a new group called MPREG. Their social media accounts have started hinting at a debut in May 2026, but it’s unclear if they’re a real group, a project created using artificial intelligence, or just another internet mystery.

This online account is gaining attention simply because of its name. “MPREG” is a term used in fanfiction, specifically referring to the idea of male pregnancy, and it’s often found in stories within the Omegaverse genre.

The group has shared a logo, promotional pictures, images of merchandise, and a profile for a character named Luke, who is described as a 20-year-old with a specific, and somewhat unusual, characteristic. The profile includes very detailed personal information, leading people to wonder if the whole thing is meant to be a joke or taken seriously.

Besides Luke, the group has shared short clips of upcoming songs, introducing members Luke and Willow through what they’re calling “voice reveals.” These clips have been posted on their MPREG Instagram account, which has already gained over 20,000 followers before the group is officially introduced.

As of today, the Instagram account for this project calls itself “MPREG Official Account” and promotes the idea that “Male can be pregnant too.” They state the project is launching in May 2026. There are also associated pages on YouTube, though the “MPREG Official” channel currently has no videos.

Is MPREG an elaborate hoax, AI, or Nathan Fielder?

Much of the online discussion isn’t simply about how unbelievable the idea is, but a developing belief that it might be connected to Nathan Fielder and his HBO show, The Rehearsal.

A discussion on Reddit in the r/TheRehearsal subreddit suggested the account seemed too carefully crafted and strange to be genuine. Users pointed to its rapid growth and professionally made promotional content as evidence that a bigger team might be involved.

MPREG is also Nathan, right?

This idea is gaining traction because people are comparing the group to Boy Throb, a different viral boy band that Nathan Fielder fans have already discussed online.

Unlike MPREG, Boy Throb has stated publicly that they are a genuine musical group. In an interview with Teen Vogue, the band members confirmed they are a real band and explained that Darshan Magdum is actually located in India. They also said their online promotion is intended to help with his application for an O-1 visa.

Although not everyone accepts the idea that Fielder is a real person, many K-pop fans are struggling to believe MPREG is a genuine group. They think the group’s promotional photos look clearly artificial and its member profiles are absurd, leading them to believe it’s a joke or parody rather than a serious musical act.

Currently, MPREG exists in a peculiar position: it’s gained enough attention to spread rapidly online, and its presentation is sophisticated enough to fuel speculation, but there’s still no confirmation of who’s behind it, no released music, and no solid evidence it’s a real K-pop group.

With a release expected in May 2026, MPREG will soon share their music with the world online.
