TikToker creates viral touring event where tall people can finally feel “normal”

A man is gaining popularity online for organizing gatherings for tall people and even starting a U.S. tour, creating a community where they can connect and feel comfortable.

Tyler Bergantino, who is 6’9″ tall, started a TikTok series by approaching tall people on the street for interviews. When that proved unreliable, he broadened his search, posting online to invite tall individuals in cities like Dallas and Los Angeles to participate.

After noticing a group of tall individuals connecting in the comments section, Bergantino created ‘The Tall Tour,’ a traveling event. He brought on a COO and CEO to help manage it, and the tour has since grown to include over 20 cities, with some events, like the one in Orlando, Florida, attracting crowds of up to 4,000 people.

The Tall Tour explained

Tall Tour events offer a chance for tall individuals to connect, share experiences, and create content together. The events are designed to foster a sense of belonging and combat the loneliness that many tall people feel. As Bergantino puts it, it’s a deeply positive experience where everyone feels comfortable and connected, like a family.

One of the coolest parts of the tour is definitely the speed-dating session. They added it because a lot of tall women told them how tough dating can be – finding guys who are actually comfortable with a woman who’s taller than them, you know? It’s a great way for us to meet guys who aren’t intimidated by our height!

The most memorable part of the evening is when attendees are lined up by height, from shortest to tallest, and the tallest man and woman are crowned. Bergantino shares that he always feels moved when the Tall Queen receives her crown, explaining it’s a special opportunity to celebrate height.

We’re planning to expand our speed-dating offerings, move our tours onto boats, and start hosting events internationally.
