Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey, is expected to get another trailer very soon. Following the huge success of Oppenheimer, Nolan and Universal Pictures did something unusual for The Odyssey: they released a first look in July, showing only in theaters before Jurassic World: Rebirth. The teaser featured Tom Holland as Telemachus and briefly showed a character played by Jon Bernthal. They also started selling tickets for IMAX 70mm showings a full year before the movie comes out.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, the next trailer for The Odyssey will likely be shown with previews for Avatar 3 (also known as Avatar: Fire & Ash) starting December 18, 2025. It’s also possible the trailer will be released online a few days before that date.
The release of Avatar: Fire & Ash is expected to be a huge event at the box office, continuing the success of the previous two Avatar films. It’s also anticipated to be a significant day for trailer releases, as Marvel Studios is planning to share a first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday – a full year before the movie comes out on December 18, 2026.
Interestingly, there’s a possibility that another movie trailer featuring Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, and Zendaya will also be shown before Avatar 3, in addition to the one for The Odyssey.
A trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day might be shown alongside the film Fire & Ash in December. The new Marvel movie is scheduled to release in theaters on July 31, 2026, a couple of weeks after The Odyssey. Tom Holland will return as Spider-Man, and Jon Bernthal and Zendaya are also confirmed to appear in both films.
What to Expect from The Odyssey’s Next Trailer

The complete trailer for The Odyssey will be much longer than the short preview we’ve already seen. It’s expected to show more of the actors, including Matt Damon as Odysseus, Anne Hathaway as his wife Penelope, and Tom Holland as their son, Telemachus.
I’m really hoping the December trailer gives us a much clearer idea of just how difficult Odysseus’s journey home is going to be after the Trojan War. I want to see the scope of his struggles and get a glimpse of the amazing mythical creatures he’ll face along the way. It feels like we’ve only scratched the surface of this epic, dangerous trip so far!
Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey, is set to be a groundbreaking cinematic experience as the first movie filmed entirely with IMAX cameras. This promises stunning visuals and a truly epic scope. The trailer is expected to highlight the film’s global locations and the innovative technology used to capture its mythical action-adventure story, making it one of the biggest IMAX releases of 2026.
I’m so hyped for The Odyssey to finally come out on July 17, 2026! I think the next trailer will really get the marketing into full swing, since they’ve got a long eight months to build up the buzz. After Christopher Nolan almost hit a billion dollars with his last film and swept the Oscars – Best Picture, Director, both lead and supporting actors! – Universal is definitely going to be pushing hard to repeat that success with this one in 2026. I’m already predicting big things!
