Fans wondered where Christine Baranski was at the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which celebrated artists like Outkast, The White Stripes, and Soundgarden. The event also gave a nod to the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Jim Carrey, who played the Grinch, and Taylor Momsen, who played Cindy Lou Who and is now the lead singer of The Pretty Reckless, reunited on the red carpet. Carrey was there to induct Soundgarden, a band he had specifically asked to perform when he first hosted Saturday Night Live. He described being powerfully moved by their rehearsal of “Pretty Noose,” saying it felt like a transformative experience. Momsen joined Soundgarden onstage to perform “Rusty Cage” as the reunited band played the song.
Taylor Momsen recently told People magazine she has so many great memories of filming How the Grinch Stole Christmas that it’s hard to choose just one. She especially remembers Jim Carrey being very protective and kind to her on set. She described the whole experience of filming and getting to know him, even with all his makeup, as wonderful. Speaking of the makeup, it was so difficult to apply and wear that the filmmakers actually consulted a CIA specialist to help Carrey cope with the process. So next time you enjoy the movie this Christmas, remember what Carrey went through to bring the Grinch to life!
