The live-action Tangled remake movie has found its Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.
Disney is working on a live-action version of the animated film Tangled, which first came out in 2010. The original movie starred Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider, and Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel.
Who has been cast in the live-action Tangled movie?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Teagan Croft will play Rapunzel and Milo Manheim will play Flynn Rider in the upcoming live-action remake of Tangled.
Teagan Croft is widely recognized for her role as Raven in the DC series Titans, which aired from 2018 to 2023. Before that, she appeared in the Australian soap opera Home and Away in 2016, and has also been in films like The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One (2016) and True Spirit (2023).
Milo Manheim is known for playing Zed in Disney’s Zombies movies and currently stars in Paramount+’s School Spirits, with its third season coming out later this month. He was a runner-up on Dancing with the Stars and recently appeared in the 2023 films Journey to Bethlehem and Thanksgiving. He’s also had roles in popular TV shows like American Housewife, The Conners, and Platonic.
I’m really excited about the live-action Tangled movie! It’s being directed by Michael Gracey, who I loved working on The Greatest Showman – he’s also done Pink: All I Know So Far and Better Man recently. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is writing the script, and Kristin Burr is producing. They’re still looking for the perfect Mother Gothel, though there was talk of Scarlett Johansson being considered for a while, but it looks like she won’t be taking the role after all.
Currently, there’s no news on when a live-action remake of Tangled might be released. However, you can still enjoy the original animated Tangled by streaming it on Disney+.
