Tactical RPG Shadow of the Road introduces Ishida in a new character trailer

Owlcat Games and Another Angle Games recently released a new trailer for their upcoming computer role-playing game, Shadow of the Road. The trailer introduces Ishida, a character who will join your party during the game.

Shadow of the Road, a tactical RPG, was revealed in August 2024 and is scheduled to launch later in 2024 on PC through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. You can also try a demo of the game right now on Steam.

Another Angle Games and Owlcat Games recently revealed Ishida, a new character joining the party in their upcoming tactical RPG, Shadow of the Road. Ishida will primarily serve as the group’s tank, dedicated to protecting his allies and offering a bit of humor amidst the intense battles set in historical Japan.

I’m seriously impressed with Ishida, nicknamed ‘the Boulder’! He’s an absolute tank on the battlefield – enemies focus their attacks on him, but he can dish out just as much damage. His attacks are brutal – headbutts, bear hugs, charges, and this massive sword he wields! It’s not just humans he takes down, either; yōkai and mechs don’t stand a chance. He’s a bit of a hothead, especially after a few drinks, and ends fights quickly and decisively. But underneath that tough exterior, he’s a really warm, friendly guy who loves good food and is fiercely loyal.

The game, Shadow of the Road, is set in feudal Japan during a really cool period of conflict between the Tokugawa Shogunate and supporters of Emperor Mutsuhito. It’s an amazing world – a blend of traditional Japan, mythology, and steampunk tech! You lead a team of adventurers through this beautiful, ever-changing land, and your choices actually matter. You have to learn how to use each character’s unique abilities to win the war – it’s a lot of fun!
