Taco Bell is adding a new version of its popular Mexican Pizza! Starting May 21st, you’ll be able to try the limited-time Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza at locations nationwide.
Taco Bell’s latest offering brings together their tender, slow-cooked Cantina Chicken and the beloved Mexican Pizza. The Mexican Pizza has been a customer favorite for decades, even though it’s been taken off and put back on the menu several times.
Taco Bell is giving its Rewards members a sneak peek at the new Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza! They can order it on the Taco Bell app starting May 19th and 20th – before anyone else. It will be available to everyone else after that.
Taco Bell adds Cantina Chicken to Mexican Pizza for first time
The Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza features Taco Bell’s crispy tortillas filled with slow-cooked Cantina Chicken, black beans, and a spicy green chile sauce, all melted together with a blend of three cheeses. It’s finished with fresh shredded purple cabbage and pico de gallo.
Taco Bell is adding a new Jalapeño Citrus Salsa to its menu, available with all Cantina Chicken items. This sauce combines the flavors of citrus fruits, red jalapeños, and guajillo chiles for a sweet and spicy kick, and is also launching alongside the return of the Mexican Pizza.
For a limited time, Cantina Chicken menu items – including the popular Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza – will come with both a new sauce packet and a packet of Taco Bell’s Avocado Verde Salsa. You can also buy these sauce packets individually for just 20 cents each.
Taco Bell’s Global Chief Food Innovation Officer, Liz Matthews, explained that the Mexican Pizza is beloved by fans for its classic flavors and textures. Instead of completely changing it, they focused on improving and expanding upon what people already love about it.
We know our fans love a good sauce, so we created the Jalapeño Citrus Salsa to add a little extra flavor and perfectly complement our Cantina menu.
Taco Bell first hinted at the new Cantina Chicken Mexican Pizza during a recent event, and announced they have plans to release even more Mexican Pizza options in the future.
