Okay, so Sydney Sweeney’s new movie is seriously blowing me away! Not only is she fantastic in it – it’s a pretty intense, R-rated thriller – but nobody expected it to do this well in theaters. It’s a total box office surprise, and honestly, she’s killing it in this role, both as the character and in terms of how well the movie is doing!
Recently, actress Sweeney has been getting a lot of negative attention, including being nicknamed ‘MAGA Barbie’. Despite this, her performance in a hugely successful thriller is breaking records and has reached a major milestone just before the movie becomes available to rent or buy digitally.
Daniel McFadden/Lionsgate
The movie The Housemaid, based on Freida McFadden’s popular book series, has earned $120.5 million in theaters over the past seven weeks, according to Deadline. Viewers have loved the film, giving it a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while critics have given it a 74% rating.
As a big thriller fan, I was really happy to see how well The Housemaid did in theaters! And even better news – it’s hitting digital and on-demand platforms starting February 3rd, which is awesome. It’s directed by Paul Feig, who I really admire – you might know him from comedies like Bridesmaids and the stylish thriller A Simple Favor. Definitely going to be checking this one out!
