
In simple terms, the classic game Super Mario Bros. is getting an update for the Nintendo Switch 2, featuring a fresh set of multiplayer options known as “Meetup in Bellabel Park.
Bellabel Park offers a spacious area brimming with diverse mini-games for players to engage in either teamwork or competition. For those who prefer rivalry, there’s a game that involves collecting coins, a platformer battle similar to Smash Bros. where participants use items to knock opponents off the stage, a take on hide-and-seek where competitors can disguise themselves as objects for concealment, and numerous other exciting contests.
For individuals seeking a collaborative gaming experience, Nintendo showcased a Bob-omb Relay mode where players need to cooperate to transport a Bob-omb through a level before it detonates. They also introduced a mode where one player constructs blocks and another uses them to cross over gaps. Lastly, they demonstrated a mode requiring teamwork as a group of players must synchronize their jumps to lift a platform.
Beyond the introduction of Bellabel Park, there’s more fresh content lined up for the Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Nintendo hinted at this, but they’ve promised to reveal further details about it later on. The combined adventure of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Bellabel Park Meetup is scheduled to debut in Spring 2026.
Nintendo unveiled the upcoming 2023 edition of their Mario game during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation. This event showcased numerous ways Nintendo is commemorating Mario’s 40th anniversary, including plans for a Super Mario Galaxy movie and updated versions of Super Mario Galaxy 1+2.
