Okay, so I just watched the new Stranger Things trailer, and let me tell you, it’s intense! Winona Ryder’s character, Joyce, says it best: “It’s not over, not by a long shot.” And she’s right – the fight against Vecna is far from finished, and honestly, the show still has a lot of story to tell. They’re using Diana Ross’s “Upside Down” – seriously, how did they not use this song before?! The trailer is packed with action: Nancy is going all-out with a machine gun, and Eleven is determined to take Vecna down. We even see Vecna transform between his human form (Jamie Campbell Bower is seriously creepy) and his monstrous side. One thing that really stuck with me is Will Byers. He barely appears, just a quick shot of him looking…off, almost in a trance. Considering how he ended the last season – using his powers to save Mike – I’m really curious to see what he’s up to. I’m really hoping we get to see a connection between him and Eleven, maybe bonding over their powers and, let’s be real, their feelings for Mike!
Despite everything happening, beloved characters Steve Harrington and Dustin Henderson vow to protect each other at all costs. They’ve grown a lot since Steve first started as a simple babysitter! See if they survive when the next three episodes of season five are released on Christmas Day, leading up to the final episodes on New Year’s Eve. Vecna is in for a fight.
