Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

Netflix has confirmed a second season of its first Stranger Things spinoff series.

The show launched at number 7 on the platform’s Top 10 list and is among the 15 most popular animated series debuts ever.

Eric Robles, showrunner for Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, shared that working on the first season was a very fulfilling experience. He was especially happy to see fans connecting with the characters, both longtime fans and new viewers, after the season’s release, and is looking forward to continuing the story.

We’re excited to revisit the story in the winter of 1985 for the second season. The Hawkins investigation team is back, facing a new supernatural danger that’s risen from the old, disused silver mines. I’m really looking forward to fans seeing where this new threat – and the strange blue flower from the Upside Down at the end of last season – will lead our characters.

Netflix has given fans a sneak peek at Season 2 of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85. Picking up after the cliffhanger ending of Season 1, Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max will face a new, dangerous challenge. The exact nature of this threat hasn’t been revealed yet.

Beyond the main group of kids, Stranger Things: Tales From also boasts a talented cast of adult actors. Honestly, people had really mixed feelings about this show. Some critics loved it as a fun, nostalgic nod to the old Saturday morning cartoons I grew up with, while others thought it felt like a poorly written fan story. And it seems like fans were just as split – it only got a 54% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, which was a bit of a letdown.
