After years of hard work farming and dealing with dangerous mines, one Stardew Valley resident fell into a long sleep – a thousand years, to be exact! When they finally woke up, their farm was a mess.
I saw this amazing thing online – a Redditor named Holozard proved they could literally sleep for a thousand in-game hours in their game! Apparently, they just left their Switch on for over three weeks, even with it crashing a few times, and had their character simply walk into bed and rest. GamesRadar+ spotted the post, and it’s honestly incredible dedication (or maybe just laziness!).
To make the game play itself, they rigged a controller with a turbo button to rapidly press ‘A’, and used a hair tie to hold the right direction, causing their character to automatically jump back into bed whenever they woke up – even when the player wasn’t actively using the console.
Stardew Valley players shares results of sleeping for 1,000 years
After sleeping for a thousand years, it’s no surprise their farm was in terrible condition when they woke up.
The property was completely wild, with trees and weeds obscuring the farmhouse. Giant mushrooms had also sprung up, and it took a full three seasons—almost three years—to clear everything away.
After clearing all the trees, the farm was surprisingly covered in meteorites and owl statues – things that almost never happen in a typical game.

The farm animals were especially upset about being left to take care of themselves.
One photo showed a chicken named Huffy looking unhappy, and another showed one that seemed a bit underweight. Luckily, the owners had left the coop door open, giving the chickens space to move around before going to sleep.
It’s unknown what motivated this player to accomplish this. Perhaps they were simply curious, or maybe they were just looking for something to do while anticipating the release of Haunted Chocolatier.
