Applications are now open for the Sperm Racing World Cup, scheduled for late 2026. The winner will receive a $100,000 prize.
Sperm Racing became popular in 2025 after its inaugural event in Los Angeles. Two students faced off to determine whose sperm were the quickest, with the winner taking home a $10,000 prize.
The creators of Sperm Racing – Garret Niconienko, Nick Small, Eric Zhu, and Shane Fan – understand people might see it as a funny or viral concept. However, their website states they designed the event to highlight important facts about men’s health.
Many men are experiencing declining fertility, but it’s not a widely discussed issue. A key factor in fertility is sperm motility – how well and quickly sperm swim. Fortunately, it’s something that can be measured, monitored, and, like physical fitness, actively improved through effort.
The creators of ‘sperm racing’ explain it’s not simply a competition between sperm cells. It’s about framing health in a competitive way. They aim to take a typically avoided topic and make it engaging, quantifiable, and shift how people think about it.
128 countries to compete in “World Cup”
Sperm Racing is expanding internationally! In 2026, 128 countries will compete for a $100,000 prize. Competitors will advance through a series of qualifying rounds and tournaments to find out which country boasts the fastest sperm.
To participate, you must be 18 or older, healthy with no sexually transmitted infections, able to provide samples as required by the rules, and willing to be filmed for competition coverage.
You can represent a country if you were born there, are a legal resident or citizen, have a parent from that country, or have at least 25% of your family history originating from there.
Prospective athletes can submit applications to the Sperm Racing website.
