Paramount Pictures announced exciting news about the next Sonic the Hedgehog movie. This new film will continue the story of the hugely successful franchise, which has already earned over $1.2 billion worldwide.
What is known about Sonic the Hedgehog 4’s cast?
I’m so excited! Paramount just dropped a new video confirming Jim Carrey is coming back as Dr. Robotnik! But that’s not all – they also revealed the title for the next movie: Sonic the Hedgehog 4. The logo is blue and pink, and it totally hints at Kristen Bell joining the cast as Amy Rose! Apparently, she’s a pink hedgehog who fights with a hammer, and as a long-time fan, I can’t wait to see her in action!

Jeff Fowler is directing the fourth Sonic the Hedgehog movie, with Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Toru Nakahara producing. Based on the popular Sega video game series, the film brings back the original cast, including Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, Keanu Reeves as Shadow, James Marsden as Tom, Tika Sumpter as Maddie, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, and Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone. While plot details are currently secret, the sequel will also star new cast members Ben Kingsley, Matt Berry, Nick Offerman, and Richard Ayoade.
The new movie is set to be released in theaters on March 19, 2027. Currently, it doesn’t face any immediate competition. However, it will be released in the same month as several other major films, including Michael B. Jordan’s The Thomas Crown Affair, Disney’s Gatto, Scarlett Johansson’s The Exorcist: Deceiver, Legendary’s Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, and Mel Gibson’s The Resurrection of the Christ.
