Konami announced that a crossover will happen between the upcoming Silent Hill f and the Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake, uniting two popular Japanese horror series.
The partnership will include free costume downloads for the game. Players will probably be able to dress the Fatal Frame character, Mio Amakura, in clothes worn by Hinako Shimizo from Silent Hill f.
Koei Tecmo America announced on X (formerly Twitter) that a collaboration is coming between two popular Japanese horror games. As part of this event, players will be able to download free costumes for their characters. More information will be revealed soon.
Silent Hill f x Fatal Frame 2 collab
In addition to the collaboration announcement, a playable demo for Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake will be available on March 5, 2026, before the full game launches on March 12, 2026.
This new version reimagines the beloved 2003 horror game, putting players in the roles of twin sisters, Mio and Mayu Amakura. They find themselves stranded in the eerie Minakami Village after a ceremony fails. Instead of fighting with weapons, players use a special camera – the Camera Obscura – to capture and defeat the ghosts that haunt the village, making photography key to survival.

First looks at the game reveal improved graphics, updated characters, smoother controls, new difficulty settings, and several quality-of-life changes – all while staying true to the original game’s feel.
Fatal Frame has collaborated on outfits before. The previous game, Maiden of Black Water, included costumes referencing past Fatal Frame characters, as well as a special outfit created in partnership with Koei Tecmo’s Atelier Ryza series.
The remake of Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly will be released on March 12, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam.
