Adding to the ongoing stories coming out of Utah, Jessi Draper, from the show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, is now facing a divorce. Her husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, filed the papers on March 19th, ending their five-year marriage.
Ngatikaura shared a statement with TMZ saying this was a difficult decision made with sadness. She expressed gratitude for the good times and what she’s learned. While she and her partner are going their separate ways, her main focus is making sure their children feel loved and secure during this change. She plans to handle the situation with kindness and respect and asks for privacy for the family as they adjust.
Considering everything happening right now, he may genuinely want to keep this private. Filming for the fifth season of Secret Lives has stopped because of the domestic violence investigation involving Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen, so it’s uncertain how much of their breakup will be shown. Also, with all the focus on the investigation and the cancellation of Taylor’s Bachelorette season, this could be a strategic time to quietly announce a divorce.
This news comes shortly after the fourth season of the show aired, where Draper revealed she worried her prenuptial agreement might not be legally binding. Because it wasn’t signed with witnesses, her estranged partner, Ngatikaura, could potentially claim half of her assets. This uncertainty weighed on Draper as she considered whether to stay married, a struggle viewers have watched unfold on Hulu. Previously, in season three, Draper admitted to an emotional affair with Marciano Brunette from Vanderpump Villa and shared details of the emotional abuse she experienced from Ngatikaura, leading to a 90-day separation planned for 2025. The most recent season documented their efforts to reconcile after that separation, which now appear to have been unsuccessful.
The couple got married in October 2020 and have three children: a 5-year-old son named Jagger, a 3-year-old daughter named Jovi, and Ngatikaura’s 13-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Peyton.
As Ngatikaura hurried to court, Draper was playfully stirring up gossip about her potentially joining the new season of Dancing With the Stars. He shared a video on Instagram of her practicing with professional dancer Sasha Farber. Could a star from Secret Lives of Mormon Lives appearing on an ABC reality show lead to trouble?
