Double jump will never be the same again
In this update (version 1.0.28470), the focus is primarily on bug fixing and minor adjustments to early-game balance, such as making certain early bosses less challenging. However, there’s a notable drawback: the patch takes away the ability to override float input when you acquire the Faydown Cloak.

In simpler terms, the Faydown Cloak in Silksong usually allows Hornet to double jump or descend rapidly. However, with the float exploit, players could momentarily hover in mid-air by timing a downward press and jump correctly. This made it possible to perform tricky jumps more easily, chain attacks more fluidly, and dodge hazards for longer periods. Now that this exploit has been addressed, those extended aerial maneuvers are no longer possible.
The change will take effect soon, specifically within the coming week when the update is launched. Players on PC can get a sneak peek of the latest version by accessing the public beta branch on Steam or GOG.
If you enjoyed using that trick in the game, there’s still time left for more fun before things change. While it might not have been what the creators had in mind, some hidden techniques can make gaming more exciting. This trick isn’t like the item duplication or unlimited gold cheats from Diablo II or Baldur’s Gate. It doesn’t compare to Doom’s renowned rocket jump either. It’s simply a helpful tool for making that double jump less challenging. However, don’t be surprised when we start experiencing how challenging the game actually is soon enough.
