Rare “Donald Trump” buffalo causes sensation in Bangladesh

A unique white buffalo, playfully nicknamed “Donald Trump,” is gaining attention in Bangladesh as the Eid al-Adha festival approaches.

As a gamer, I’ve been learning about different cultures, and I recently found out about Eid al-Adha. It’s a really big deal for Muslims in Bangladesh – basically, it’s a festival celebrating sacrifice. Families come together, they pray, and traditionally, they sacrifice animals as part of the celebration. It’s all about community and faith, which is pretty cool to learn about.

In Bangladesh, it’s become common to feature unusually large or interesting animals in festivals and events. Organizers often give these animals playful names, inspired by celebrities, to attract more people and potential buyers.

Albino buffaloes are rare in Bangladesh

One of the animals chosen for sacrifice this year is a rare albino buffalo. People have playfully nicknamed it “Donald Trump” because its long, blonde hair reminds them of the U.S. President’s famous hairstyle.

This cream-colored buffalo weighs almost 700 kilograms (1,540 pounds). It was raised on a farm in Narayanganj, a district close to Dhaka, the capital city.

Reuters reports that the buffalo wasn’t named by its owner, Ziauddin Mridha. He explained that his younger brother gave the buffalo the name Donald Trump because its hairstyle reminded him of the former president.

He explained that despite looking impressive, the buffalo is actually very peaceful. It’s an albino buffalo, and these animals are usually gentle, only becoming aggressive if someone bothers them.

The animal, a long-time favorite at the festival, has now been given to a buyer for use in traditional celebratory rituals.
