Pokemon-themed hot spring footbath opening in Japan & it’s free

Fans will soon be able to visit a newly announced Pokemon-themed hot spring footbath in Japan.

Pokémon is famous for its video games and toys, but it’s also starting to create experiences you can enjoy in the real world.

Following the successful launch of PokePark Kanto earlier this year, a new location has been announced in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. This new park offers fans a relaxing environment filled with beloved Pokémon characters.

According to SoraNews24, a Pokémon-themed footbath, called the “Wakura Pokemon Footbath (Ashiyu),” is being built inside Yuttari Park as part of ongoing renovations.

Pokemon fans can soon relax with iconic mons

The hot spring foot bath will open on May 12, 2026, and admission will be free.

Okay, so we haven’t seen actual photos of the place yet, but I’ve been checking out some early images – basically, cool 3D models – and they give you a good look at the Pokémon you’ll find there. It’s a sneak peek, for sure!

It’s not surprising to find a lot of Water-type Pokémon together here, like Vaporeon, Poliwag, and Quaxly.

The evolved form of Magikarp, Gyarados, also appears in the artwork, and it looks like he’s using his powers to fill a footbath with water.

Beside the footbath, you’ll find a special Pokemon manhole cover. This is one of six unique covers being placed around the Noto Peninsula to encourage people to explore different areas.

Ishikawa Governor Yukiyoshi Yamano recently unveiled new designs, with each city getting its own unique look.

The Nanao design shows Gyarados, Politoed, and Poliwag enjoying a footbath, mirroring a real-life scene.

This is one piece of a larger effort to help the area recover after the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.

It will be fun to see how this all goes, particularly because it’s one of the rare locations officially celebrating Pokemon with special designs and decorations.
