A Georgia police department is getting a lot of attention online after jokingly warning parents about a student bringing a canned martini to school in their lunchbox.
On February 25th, the South Fulton Police Department warned parents on social media to check their children’s lunches. This came after police received reports of alcoholic beverages being found hidden among regular lunch items.
The department playfully warned parents, “Hey Twin, before sending your kids to school, please double-check those lunchboxes! We’re getting reports of juice boxes being packed right next to… Cutwater margaritas?!”
A recent social media post showed a child’s lunchbox containing a Cutwater Lemon Drop Martini, which is an alcoholic, ready-to-drink cocktail made for adults.
Officials used humor in their message, jokingly stating: “That’s not Capri Sun, and it’s definitely not apple juice. It’s what you get when a parent hasn’t slept all night.”
The department shared a humorous story about a student who brought a Lemon Drop Martini to school, claiming he was offering fruit snacks to his classmates during third period.

Police remind parents to double-check school lunches
Although the post had a lighthearted feel, officials explained it was actually intended to help parents remember important things during hectic mornings.
Mornings are often rushed, but every student deserves a drink they can easily get without needing to show identification, according to a recent statement.
So, the school sent out a quick guide for parents, and it was pretty straightforward. They said things like homework and lunch were okay to send with us, but they really made it clear that alcohol was a definite no-no – like, triple-X-rated no-no! It was kinda funny, actually, but definitely got the point across.
“If it says 12% ABV… it does NOT belong next to a PB&J,” the post concluded.
I heard about this and it was hilarious! Apparently, it’s not uncommon for parents to slip up with lunchboxes. Last year, there was this dad who sent his kid to school with a can of Guinness and a Liquid Death drink. Can you imagine?! He had to go pick his kid up from school because of it!
