The first part of the new season arrived on Netflix on November 26th. It picks up over a year after the end of Season 4, with Hawkins under quarantine, the military searching for Eleven, and Vecna missing.
Michael Cusack, co-creator of Smiling Friends, recently shared that new episodes are in development. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he revealed the team has already written two scripts for Season 4 and is working on a third, expressing excitement about the creative process and generating new ideas.

Battlefield Studios measures the success of its anti-cheat system differently than most. Instead of focusing on how many cheaters they catch, they track the ‘Match Infection Rate,’ or MIR – which estimates the chance that a match was affected by a cheater. After launch, they reported a MIR of only 2%, meaning a remarkable 98% of matches weren’t impacted by cheating.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Team Cherry’s Ari Gibson explained they’re still actively developing the game and focusing on exciting new content. He understands fans want to know when they can expect updates, and reassured them that new content is planned for the near future, not years down the line.
