ENEOS, a Japanese energy company, is gaining attention online for creating an elaborate ‘high-rise’ apartment complex for cats. The structure is made from around 100 cardboard boxes and even features functional lights and other amenities.
In Japan, February 22nd is celebrated as Cat Day. To mark the occasion, a major oil company is releasing a special product designed to pamper cats.
ENEOS, a major oil company in Japan, surprised everyone by shifting away from its traditional business and building a unique apartment complex designed specifically for cats.
This cat tower is a spacious four-story structure, standing at 7.5 feet tall. It features heated floors for cozy winter comfort, a built-in scratching post at the entrance, and a delightful rooftop garden. A spiral staircase allows cats to easily climb between levels.

Luxury cat apartment with heated floors and working lights goes viral
This incredible cat house, built from 98 cardboard boxes, costs around 6,000 yen (about $39 USD). Cat fans can visit this unique structure at the Tokyo Wave Line venue from February 19th to 22nd, and are encouraged to bring their feline friends too!
ENEOS highlighted the building’s construction with a unique advertisement, featuring narration by popular anime voice actor Yuki Kaiji, best known as the voice of Eren Jaeger from Attack on Titan.
Kaiji shared that recording the video brought him moments of genuine laughter. He hopes viewers will enjoy it around Cat Day and that it will encourage them to think differently about their energy use.

According to ENEOS, Japanese households with pets use about 20% more energy than those without, likely because owners keep their homes warmer for their animals when they’re away. To help pet owners reduce energy bills, ENEOS suggests using heated pet shelters, such as their cat tower.
This popular art installation follows closely on the heels of Chinese YouTuber Xing Zhilei’s incredible project: building a complete miniature city – with a functioning subway and smart technology – for his cats.
