Stop! That! Train! Is! Actually! Good!

Adam Shankman’s Stop! That! Train! genuinely made me laugh, and I actually enjoyed watching it. That might not sound like a huge compliment, but it’s true – we haven’t seen many truly original, funny movies lately, except for the Naked Gun reboot. While RuPaul is involved, the film really feels like the work of its writers, Connor Wright and Christina Friel. It has a playful, offbeat humor that feels inspired by alternative queer comedy, rather than RuPaul’s usual style (though Wright did work on The Bitch Who Stole Christmas). It’s clear these writers are fans of things like Dicks: The Musical and the comedy duo John Early and Kate Berlant’s work on The Tonight Show.

Let’s Talk About the Ending of Disclosure Day

Before reaching the news studio, the story revisits a crucial event. Daniel Kellner and Margaret Fairchild visit a warehouse where Hugo Wakefield has painstakingly rebuilt Margaret’s childhood home. Hugo believes this recreation will help Margaret remember a forgotten part of her past. When she was ten, Margaret experienced something magical in a house in the woods – an event that gave her the abilities seen throughout the film, abilities that had remained hidden for years. It was also where she first met Daniel, another frightened child who received powers at the same time. He’s also blocked out the memory, but together, they might be able to unlock it.

Love Island USA Recap: Bryce and Zach Continue to Recreate Challengers Scenes

I surprisingly enjoyed how chaotic episode eight was. Delaying the recoupling by a day wasn’t a big deal considering everything else happening. I also thought Iain Stirling’s jokes about the Love Island app crashing were funny – he was on top form all night, particularly when he called out Sincere’s awkward Three Little Pigs analogy. Honestly, that analogy was his worst yet, even though Bryce tried to help. The season’s storyline is picking up pace, so I don’t think it’s fair to call this episode pointless.
