On September 16th, characters from Persona 5’s Phantom Thieves are joining Overwatch 2, bringing with them a fresh wave of stylish cosmetics. These premium items, inspired by the popular JRPG, will likely be available for purchase and aren’t expected to be inexpensive.
Blizzard has officially announced the five exclusive cosmetic items players can buy for the Season 18 collaboration, following earlier hints. Here’s what’s available:
- Wuyang as Joker
- Mercy as Panther
- Lifeweaver as Fox
- D.Va as Queen
- Genji as Skull
Past Overwatch collaborations, like the ones with Gundam Wing and Avatar: The Last Airbender, featured Blizzard reimagining characters within the Overwatch universe. This new Persona 5 collaboration is different. The skins closely resemble the Persona 5 characters as you’d expect, making it somewhat hard to identify the Overwatch hero wearing the costume. Though mostly faithful to the source material, there are some nice touches – for example, Mercy’s wings shed rose petals, and Wuyang’s staff is designed to look like Joker’s Persona, Arsene.
Wuyang is the newest hero in Overwatch 2, so he doesn’t have many outfits available yet. That’s why it’s great to see him included in this crossover event. Mercy is a very popular character who often appears in these kinds of events, so her new look inspired by Panther makes perfect sense. Blizzard hasn’t announced the prices for the skins, but they’ll likely be around the same as past crossovers – typically about 2,800 (or $28) in Overwatch Coins per bundle.

Beyond the new character outfits, Overwatch 2 will also feature some visual elements inspired by Persona 5. This includes new artwork from Atlus artist Shigenori Soejima, and a special Persona 5-themed screen when you browse the collaboration’s items in the in-game shop. Blizzard says this is the first time they’ve done this for any collaboration.
If you don’t want to spend money on in-game items, Overwatch 2 often offers free rewards like sprays, weapon charms, and player icons during special events. These are usually earned by completing challenges. The Persona 5 collaboration in Overwatch 2 will run from September 16th to 30th.
