Fans of The Lord of the Rings have a lot to look forward to! A new movie, The Hunt for Gollum, is coming out, season three of The Rings of Power is on its way, and Warhorse Studios is developing an open-world RPG set in Middle-earth. While it’s still early days and we don’t know exactly which stories from Tolkien’s world the game will cover, it promises a chance to explore the fantastical landscapes of Middle-earth. Plus, Warhorse Studios also announced they’re working on a new installment in the Kingdom Come series.

It’s hard to say exactly what this will be like. The initial descriptions are quite broad – an “open world Middle-earth RPG” could mean a lot of different things. However, Warhorse Studios has demonstrated its ability to create rich and detailed worlds with its Kingdom Come games. (Please, though, let’s hope they avoid using AI.) A truly open-world The Lord of the Rings game will give the studio even more freedom to be creative, thanks to the expansive fantasy setting and the relative lack of strict historical constraints. We’re really looking forward to seeing how this LOTR game develops.
Fans have been hoping to hear about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3, but Warhorse Studios has announced something a little different: a brand new story set in the Kingdom Come universe. While the specifics are still unknown, players can look forward to returning to the immersive world of Bohemia (modern-day Czech Republic) for another captivating, story-rich experience with stunning visuals.
