Tony Tony Chopper, the doctor from the popular anime and manga One Piece, is becoming an official supporter of Doctors Without Borders. This international organization provides vital medical care to people in areas affected by conflict and disaster.
I gotta say, Chopper is one of my favorite characters in One Piece! He showed up pretty early on and has been the Straw Hats’ doctor ever since, patching up Luffy and the rest of the crew whenever they get beat up on their adventures. He’s a lifesaver, seriously!
Chopper is famous for being incredibly kind and brave, frequently going out of his way to help and protect others. Similar to the story of Laboon, his touching past and unwavering desire to aid those in need have made him a fan favorite around the globe.
Throughout the series, Chopper has consistently played a crucial role in storylines focused on illness, scientific research, and protecting people, establishing him as a character who embodies compassion and strength. As a result of this image, he’s now an official ambassador for Doctors Without Borders.

Shonen Jump News reports that a special illustration by Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series, will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #17, and the official announcement will be made there.
Weekly Shonen Jump is a hugely popular manga magazine in Japan, published by Shueisha. It’s famous for featuring hit series like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Blue Box. A new issue comes out every week in Japan, and issue number 17 is scheduled to be available around March 24, 2026.
I was so excited to hear that Tony Tony Chopper from ONE PIECE is now an ‘Official Supporter’ of Doctors Without Borders! It’s amazing to see a character I love supporting such an important organization. And even cooler, Eiichiro Oda drew a special illustration for it that’s in this week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump! I can’t wait to check it out!

This new partnership supports Doctors Without Borders (also called Médecins Sans Frontières or MSF), an international group that delivers urgent medical assistance in areas experiencing conflict, natural disasters, and disease epidemics.
This partnership happens as Chopper becomes more well-known worldwide, especially after being featured in the second season of the live-action One Piece series on Netflix, which premiered on March 10th.
