A recent documentary by Jon Youshaei offers a detailed glimpse into the daily life of MrBeast, showing how constantly he works while managing his many projects. It reveals he has very little free time.
I just watched Youshaei’s video about MrBeast, and it’s fascinating! It basically walks you through a typical day for Jimmy Donaldson, showing how incredibly planned out his life had to be while he was making Beast Games. It really gives you an idea of how much work goes into everything he does.
Thumbnails require body doubles
In the documentary, Jimmy explained how he balanced creating content for his main channel with filming the Amazon Prime Video show, revealing just how demanding the work had been.
He explained that his days felt incredibly long, rarely lasting less than fifteen hours, and that his schedule was meticulously planned, accounted for every minute.
He described the meticulous planning involved in even seemingly simple tasks, like thumbnail shoots. He explained that these are carefully set up before he even begins his work.
We use thumbnails much like we plan our layouts on the floor. Before a photoshoot, we rehearse with stand-ins to get everything right.
The video explains that the people used as placeholders for thumbnails – basically, stand-in stunt doubles – practiced poses and arrangements beforehand to help the actual photoshoot go smoothly and quickly.

A stand-in shared that they took their job very seriously, even though they weren’t actually in the final shot.
Even though some of my face is often removed in post-production, I really try to commit to the fall and make it look realistic. Currently, I’m working a regular schedule, Monday to Friday, from nine to five,” the stunt performer said.
Throughout the documentary, it’s evident the creator carefully planned even the smallest details of his day to maximize efficiency and save time.
Jimmy later shared that filming Beast Games often meant incredibly long workdays, sometimes lasting up to 20 hours. He frequently had to switch back and forth between shooting content for Beast Games and his regular YouTube videos.
I was working incredibly long days on Beast Games – often 12 to 20 hours straight. Then, I’d immediately switch to filming content for my main channel, and go right back to the demanding Beast Games schedule. It was a really intense period.
Beast Games season 2 finished airing in February 2026, with a third confirmed to be on the way.
