MrBeast recently shared that he has very poor vision in his right eye. This came after a fan noticed that he doesn’t seem to smile with both eyes.
Even though MrBeast does a lot of charity work, dealing with criticism is simply something he has to expect as a popular creator.
You know, it’s funny, Jimmy actually says the thing people criticize him about the most is his eyes! And he says it’s something he can’t even help – it’s just how he’s made. It’s a bit weird to me that’s what people focus on, but he’s mentioned it a lot.
He’s responded to comments like these before, but this is the first time he’s explained that he has an eye condition. This condition makes creating content more challenging than people realize.
MrBeast explains the reason why his eyes look “off”
I saw this post going around – it was just a super close-up of MrBeast’s eyes with some text. Honestly, it didn’t even take a few hours before MrBeast himself actually responded! It was pretty wild.
It’s funny to me that people focus on my eyes as a criticism, since it’s something I can’t change. I’m almost blind in my right eye, and I have to squint with it, even while wearing contacts, just to see clearly. There’s really nothing I can do about it.

He responded to criticism about his eyes, explaining they appear unusual because he has very poor vision in his right eye. Even with contacts, he has to squint to see clearly, and there’s nothing he can do to change it. He finds it ironic that this uncontrollable physical trait is his biggest source of criticism.
The user behind the post later apologized.
He admitted he hadn’t watched any of my videos, so he couldn’t offer an opinion. Then, dismissively suggesting my work lacked vision, he sarcastically apologized for my ‘blindness,’ adding that it was unfortunate.
Lots of people came to MrBeast’s defense in the comments and asked for the post to be removed, saying that commenting on someone’s looks is inappropriate.
Someone else described it as a great illustration of why you shouldn’t make assumptions about people based on how they look.
It’s easy to be unaware of the private health battles people face. We should all respect Jimmy for sharing his experience.
This news might remind dedicated followers of his 2023 initiative where he funded eye surgeries for a thousand people. Interestingly, despite covering the costs for others, he’s suggested he can’t afford to correct his own vision, possibly due to a claim of having a negative balance in his bank account.
