MrBeast shared that he’s almost blind in his right eye. He discovered this after a fan noticed that he doesn’t seem to smile with both eyes.
Even though MrBeast does a lot of charity work, receiving criticism is simply something he has to expect as a popular creator.
Jimmy says the most common complaint he gets is about his eyes, which he claims he can’t help.
He’s responded to comments like these before, but this is the first time he’s explained that he has an eye condition which makes creating content more challenging than people realize.
MrBeast explains the reason why his eyes look “off”
The popular post showed a close-up of MrBeast’s eyes with a comment underneath. MrBeast responded just a few hours later.
It’s funny to me that people mostly criticize my eyes, since it’s something I can’t change. I’m almost blind in my right eye, and I have to squint with it—even with contacts—just to see clearly. There’s really nothing I can do about it.

He pointed out that a common criticism he receives is about his eyes, which is frustrating because he can’t change them. He explained he’s nearly blind in one eye and squints to see, even while wearing contacts, which is why they appear different. He added that there’s nothing he can do to fix it.
The user behind the post later apologized.
He admitted he hadn’t watched any of my videos, so he couldn’t offer an opinion. Then he sarcastically said if my work was about having a different perspective, he apologized for my ‘blindness,’ implying I was unable to see things clearly. He added that it was unfortunate.
Lots of people rushed to MrBeast’s defense in the comments and asked for the post to be removed, saying it wasn’t okay to comment on someone’s looks.
Someone else described it as a great illustration of why you shouldn’t make assumptions about people based on how they look.
It’s easy to be unaware of the health challenges people face privately. We should all respect Jimmy for sharing his experience.
This news might remind dedicated followers of his 2023 initiative where he funded eye surgeries for a thousand people. Interestingly, despite covering the costs for others, he’s suggested he can’t afford to correct his own vision, possibly due to a claim of having a negative balance in his bank account.
