Popular YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, recently complimented IShowSpeed, noting that his content stands out from the many YouTubers who simply imitate each other.
IShowSpeed began his streaming career like many others, playing games at home and dealing with online trolls. But he quickly surpassed those beginnings, becoming a leading IRL streamer known for his large-scale, traveling broadcasts.
Many people have acknowledged Speed’s success. He’s been featured on television discussing his streams, received awards, and amassed tens of millions of subscribers through his tours.
Because many YouTubers are starting to copy popular trends, you might expect new creators to begin touring like Speed. But MrBeast has cautioned against doing so.
MrBeast praises IShowSpeed’s style of content
Donaldson, known for pointing out content creators who copy others on YouTube, complimented Speed’s work. However, he thinks simply imitating Speed won’t lead to success.
It’s great to see Speed finding success by staying true to his own unique content. Many YouTubers believe they have to imitate others to become popular, but he’s proving that’s not always the case, he shared on X (formerly Twitter).
Don’t try to copy MrBeast or other creators. Focus on making content that feels authentic to you!
It’s great to see Speed building a huge audience by simply being himself. Many YouTubers believe they have to copy successful creators to get noticed. Hopefully, we’ll see a future where creators like MrBeast and Speed continue to innovate and stay true to their own unique styles. The key is to discover what kind of content feels authentic to you!

MrBeast has been working to prevent others from directly copying his videos, asking them to be more original.
He explained on the Colin and Samir podcast in 2023 that he was frustrated by how many people were copying his work. He said they were directly imitating his videos – using the same thumbnails, repeating his opening lines, and generally mimicking his content.
He actually wants people to create their own short videos using his content, as it helps him reach a wider audience.
