MrBeast hits 500 million YouTube subscribers: “More than I could have ever imagined”

MrBeast is the first individual content creator to hit 500 million subscribers on YouTube, solidifying his position as the platform’s most popular channel.

This achievement comes over ten years after Jimmy Donaldson, known as ‘MrBeast,’ started posting videos on YouTube. It also follows several years of him establishing himself as the platform’s most popular creator with his ever-more elaborate challenges, generous giveaways, and massive projects.

MrBeast says subscriber milestones matter less than making great videos

I was reading an interview with MrBeast (Donaldson) over at TopMob, and he actually said that hitting 500 million subscribers isn’t something he dwells on much, even though it’s a huge deal! It’s wild to think about, but he’s just focused on making cool stuff, apparently.

He explained that his current level of success – measured by things like views and subscriber count – far exceeds anything he dreamed of when he was younger.

I don’t really spend much time worrying about things like that. I mostly concentrate on creating the best videos I can and thinking about who’s watching. I’m so thankful people still enjoy my content after all this time, and that we continue to grow as a channel.

Donaldson explained that he’s no longer focused on his channel’s subscriber count. He says the support from his audience is what truly drives him now.

He explained that the number of views – whether it’s a lot like 500 million, a smaller number like 5 million, or even just a few thousand – isn’t as important to him anymore. His main focus is creating videos that people enjoy.

Look, I’m not sure if this is the right way to say it, but if anyone out there is watching my stuff, I just want you to know I’m incredibly thankful. Seriously, beyond words!

The popular YouTuber also thanked his fans, explaining that their support is what allows him to create content and give back to the community.

I’m incredibly grateful for the life I have, and it’s all thanks to your support. Without viewers like you, I wouldn’t be able to create these amazing experiences, conduct my experiments, or make a difference in people’s lives. I truly owe everything to you.
