Okay, so everyone was buzzing about Timothée Chalamet not winning an Oscar, but honestly, don’t worry too much – he’s heading back to Arrakis for another Dune movie this year! I get that some of you were maybe a little annoyed with his recent look and the whole Marty Supreme promotion, but the first teaser for Dune: Part Three is a nice reminder of when he had curly hair and, for some reason, we all seemed to be okay with everything. This one, based on Dune Messiah, looks like it’s going to throw Paul Atreides right back into the thick of things. And the new villain? Forget Austin Butler’s pale intensity – this time, Paul’s facing off against Robert Pattinson as Scytale (seriously, sounds like a Pokémon!). Honestly, Chalamet versus Pattinson again? We saw sparks fly in The King, and Pattinson really commits to playing those delightfully odd characters. So, yeah, Dune: Part Three is looking really, really good – especially with Pattinson involved.

Honestly, as excited as I am to see Paul Atreides back, the real news for me is Duncan Idaho! Jason Momoa was such a standout in the first film – that charming, incredibly capable guy amidst all the weird names and giant worms. I thought he was gone for good, but apparently Frank Herbert had a perfectly logical explanation for bringing him back! It’s great to see the rest of the gang returning too: Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica with those striking tattoos, Zendaya as Chani and her pregnancy storyline, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan with her cool chain-mail hood, and of course, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, probably still shouting about Lisan al-Gaib in the desert. Mark your calendars – Dune: Part Three hits theaters December 18th, so you better start saving up your spice melange now!
