Konami revealed today at the Tokyo Game Show that the Fox Hunt multiplayer mode from Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater will be released on October 30th.
Fox Hunt is a new game mode for Metal Gear Online, building on the existing online experience. It’s a thrilling game of hide-and-seek where players must use stealth and survival skills to outwit their opponents.
Fox Hunt lets up to 12 players compete online in one of two modes. The first, Survival Capture, is a challenging, multi-stage mission where players work to capture Kerotan frogs. As the game progresses, fewer and fewer frogs will be available.
Survival Intrude is a game mode where players fight to capture and control areas on the map. As the match goes on, the number of available areas shrinks.
Players start with a special suit that lets them camouflage into their surroundings. They also have a skill called Naked Sense, which helps them find enemies and useful items nearby.
Okay, so if you’re wondering about Fox Hunt, it doesn’t let you play with people on different consoles or PCs – no cross-platform stuff. But the good news is you *can* set up private matches with your friends if you’re all on the same system. And thankfully, it’s totally free of microtransactions, which is a huge win in my book!

Metal Gear Solid: Delta Snake Eater is currently on sale at TopMob sister site Fanatical.
