Teen romance shows on Prime Video are competing for the top spot in streaming, and Maxton Hall has now overtaken The Summer I Turned Pretty as the most popular.
Season 2 of Maxton Hall – The World Between Us is now available on Prime Video and is currently the most-watched show on the platform. The series gained popularity recently and was already a top 10 hit globally on Prime Video before the new season launched.
The Netflix series Maxton Hall is adapted from a German book trilogy by Mona Kasten. It centers on the complicated relationship between student Ruby Bell (played by Harriet Herbig-Matten) and wealthy James Beaufort (played by Damian Hardung), a romance filled with obstacles and complicated by social differences and privilege.
With the conclusion of The Summer I Turned Pretty on Prime Video on September 17th, many viewers quickly turned to Maxton Hall, continuing the trend of popular teen romance stories.
Maxton Hall – The World Between Us season 2’s official synopsis is:
Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) is on top of the world – she’s achieved a lifelong dream and shared a magical night with James (Damian Hardung). However, a family crisis for James quickly brings everything crashing down, and he’s the one who has to deliver the difficult news, shattering Ruby’s happiness.
Ruby is heartbroken. She’s never felt so strongly about anyone as she does for James, and no one has ever hurt her this much before. She wishes she could go back to how things were before she came to Maxton Hall, before anyone knew her and she was caught up in the exclusive world of her classmates. But she can’t stop thinking about James, especially because he’s trying so hard to earn her forgiveness.
Okay, so Season 2 of Maxton Hall definitely didn’t waste any time jumping into the drama! Right from the start, things are chaotic, which, honestly, I expected given these characters. What’s really interesting is how Ruby and James’s relationship is being put to the test. Their vastly different backgrounds are creating even bigger problems than we saw in the first season, and it’s compelling to watch how they navigate that.
The German show has a 70% average rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but the latest season hasn’t been rated yet because it’s still being released.
Season 2 of Maxton Hall – The World Between Us launched with the first three episodes on November 7th. New episodes will be released every Friday until November 28th.
