Insomniac Games, the studio behind , has shared a positive update about the game’s release date, reassuring fans who worried it might be delayed until 2027.
Fans are eagerly awaiting Marvel’s Wolverine, expected in 2026, but some are wondering if it will actually come out this year. So far, the game has only had one brief teaser and a single trailer with carefully selected clips. This limited amount of footage has led to concerns that the game’s development might be delayed.
Marvel’s Wolverine Spring Update Is Still Coming
Someone asked Insomniac Games on Twitter if they were still planning to share more details about Marvel’s Wolverine this Spring, as previously promised. The game developer confirmed that an update is still on track for this Spring, meaning fans should expect to hear more before the end of June.
Since Marvel’s Wolverine is only coming to PlayStation 5, Sony will probably reveal more about it during one of their own events, like a State of Play. However, Summer Games Fest, taking place June 5-8, would be an excellent opportunity to show the game to a larger audience.
The September 2025 trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine gave us a first look at gameplay, but many details about the game are still a mystery. Expect some major announcements before the game is released, giving X-Men fans plenty to anticipate in the months ahead.
Marvel’s Wolverine Shouldn’t See a Delay (Unless It’s a Huge One)

Releasing Marvel’s Wolverine close to the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 would likely be disastrous for the game. GTA 6 is hugely anticipated, and any game competing with it is almost certain to fail. If Wolverine is delayed, the best course of action would be to release it in early 2027.
If the Spring update remains on track for its September 15th release, Wolverine’s healing ability will likely keep him safe. However, a delay pushing the launch to November or December 2026 is possible.
While another delay for Grand Theft Auto 6 is always a possibility, current indications suggest it’s still on schedule for release, much like Marvel’s Wolverine. 2026 is looking like a huge year for video game releases, and it might even be better than 2025.
