Fans are driving up the streaming numbers for one of the actor’s popular buddy cop comedies. The Other Guys is currently the most-watched film on Paramount+.
As of January 12, 2026, the movie The Other Guys is ninth on the Paramount+ Top 10 Movies chart in the United States, according to FlixPatrol. It’s been a popular choice all week, reaching as high as number six on January 7th and remaining at number eight on January 11th. Released in 2010, the film follows two unremarkable police officers who get a chance to show everyone they’re capable of more than just desk work.
Will Ferrell plays Allen “Gator” Gamble, a quiet accountant who’s content with a low-key job, unlike most NYPD detectives. Mark Wahlberg plays Terry Hoitz, a detective eager to return to active duty and redeem himself, but his colleagues don’t take him seriously after a comical mishap where he accidentally shot Derek Jeter during a World Series game.
The film is a fast-paced, funny adventure that was a hit with both viewers and critics when it first came out. It still holds up today, earning a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 78% score based on over 200 critic reviews. More than 100,000 viewers also gave it a thumbs-up, with a 60% approval rating.
Rotten Tomatoes describes the movie as a smart and funny take on classic buddy cop comedies, highlighting its exciting action scenes and the great comedic pairing of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Many viewers have given it top ratings, calling it a ‘classic’ and praising its wildly funny humor, as well as the performances and chemistry between Ferrell and Wahlberg.
The Other Guys did reasonably well in theaters. It opened with $35.5 million, taking the top spot from the previous week’s film. Ultimately, the movie earned over $170 million worldwide, which was a good return on its $85–100 million production cost.
Mark Wahlberg & Will Ferrell Reunited For 2 More Hilarious Buddy Comedy Films
After their successful comedic pairing in The Other Guys, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg teamed up for two more movies: Daddy’s Home (2015) and Daddy’s Home 2 (2017). Both films feature a similar dynamic, with Ferrell playing a gentle, well-meaning stepfather and Wahlberg portraying the naturally cool and confident biological father who re-enters the family.
Both Daddy’s Home and its sequel were big hits at the box office, earning $242 million and over $180 million worldwide, respectively. However, critics weren’t as impressed with these films as they were with The Other Guys, finding them unoriginal and failing to fully develop their potential.
The Other Guys is now streaming on Paramount+.
