Man wins $500k after TikTok inspires him to play lottery

A man from Michigan credits a popular TikTok trend with helping him win $500,000 on a lottery scratch-off ticket, calling it a life-changing event.

Okay, so this is pretty cool. A guy named Grosjieon Moore, 63, from Detroit, actually won $500,000 from a Michigan Lottery scratch-off ticket! Apparently, he’d been watching videos of other people winning big online and decided to try his luck. It paid off for him, big time!

Moore admitted he’d always thought winning the lottery was something that happened to other people, after seeing videos of big winners online. But a few days later, while scratching lottery tickets with his wife, they discovered they’d won! His wife initially thought the prize was $50,000, but Moore quickly realized it was actually a much larger $500,000. He described the moment as incredible.

Moore bought the winning lottery ticket at New Quick Stop Market in Detroit. He then went to Michigan Lottery headquarters to collect his prize and said he intends to save the money.

The $500,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier game became available in February. Tickets cost $5 each and offer prizes from $5 to $500,000.

Michigan Lottery players have already won over $6 million playing the game, and there are still more than $23 million in prizes to be claimed. This includes two $500,000 top prizes, eight prizes worth $10,000 each, and eighteen $2,000 prizes.

This lucky win stands out, especially considering recent lottery disputes. Just a few months ago, in February, a Circle K worker found themselves in court over a $13 million ticket. A customer had left the ticket behind, and the company argued they legally owned it.
