During an IndiGo flight, a passenger tried to open an emergency exit door not once, but twice. After being handed over to security, he explained that he believed he was controlled by a ghost.
A situation unfolded on a flight from Bengaluru to Varanasi that required both the crew and other passengers to step in and help.
Passenger restrained after attempting to open exit twice
NDTV reports that Mohammad Adnan tried to open an emergency exit soon after the plane took off. Cabin crew stopped him after he left his seat and approached the exit.
He tried to land again a short time later, while the plane was about 500 feet up. This caused the pilot to cancel the landing and circle around for another attempt.
The flight landed safely safely in Varanasi safely at around 10:35 pm local time. The flight attendants stepped in and held the man back, stopping him from trying to open the aircraft door.
The flight eventually landed safely, and the passenger was handed over to authorities.
At first, Adnan couldn’t explain what he did, but later he said he was supposedly controlled by a ghost and didn’t realize he was trying to open the emergency door on the plane.
A case has since been registered against Adnan for endangering the safety of the flight.
Strange things sometimes happen on airplanes. For example, in 2023, a flight traveling from New York to Belgium was forced to land unexpectedly when a horse got loose from the area where luggage and cargo are stored.
