A Manchester United fan who promised to grow his hair until the team achieved five consecutive wins was attacked during the game against Chelsea on September 20th.
An online fan, known as theunitedstrand, has been sharing his year-long challenge on Instagram, gaining a large following as he grows out his hair. He started the challenge in October 2024, and despite some good moments for the team, they haven’t managed more than two wins in a row so far.
His most recent popular video wasn’t about how his hair was growing. Instead, it showed a clip of him-theunitedstrand-being confronted by another fan of the same team. Others had to separate them before the situation escalated.

The videos show a man walking up to another person in a crowd and pulling him down by the hair. Bystanders quickly intervened to break them up, but the attacker came back shortly after and yelled, “I do whatever I want.”
theunitedstrand hasn’t officially addressed the situation, but on day 352 of his challenge, he mentioned on Instagram that he’d explain things later, and thanked his supporters.
Manchester United’s 2-1 win against Chelsea was the first step in a five-game winning streak for one fan, who had promised to get a haircut if the team succeeded. However, the challenge isn’t over yet.
