The NFL, and the Madden video game series, are known for exciting plays, strong players, and even celebrity fans. But EA, the game’s maker, wants players to appreciate the role of kickers – not just when they make or miss crucial field goals, but throughout the game.
The newest update to Madden 26 lets kickers with top-level Kick Power (a rating of 99) boot field goals from up to 70 yards away.
To keep the game realistic, we’ve added the NFL’s record-breaking 70-yard field goal to the latest update. It was an amazing play that really tested the limits of what players can do, and now you can try to recreate it yourself in Madden.
Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little made history during a preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in August 2025. He set a new NFL record with a 67-yard field goal – remarkably, this happened in the first preseason game for both teams. This kick broke the previous regular-season record of 66 yards.
I was a little unsure at first,” Little admitted to ESPN. “But we practiced a lot of long field goals during training camp – some from 60 yards or even further. I just wanted to go out there and see how far I could actually kick it.
It’s pretty cool knowing the jersey and shoes I used for that kick are actually in the Pro Football Hall of Fame! It’s a bit of a bummer though, since it was a preseason game, the NFL doesn’t officially count it in the record books. Still, it’s a special piece of football history for me.
