LoL player uses actual steering wheel to play the game

A League of Legends streamer has managed to set up and play the game with a steering wheel.

League of Legends is already a very demanding game. Players have to think quickly, react with precision, and constantly process a lot of information.

Despite that setback, content creator Dumbs decided to take things a step further and experiment with a steering wheel modified with personalized controls.

It does work, though it took a surprising amount of effort – twelve hours of troubleshooting, to be exact – to get everything set up correctly. The concept originated after Riot Games introduced controller options, and the final result is quite remarkable.

League of Legends player plays Rammus using an actual steering wheel

Dumbs chose Rammus for the challenge because his quick movement and ability to stun opponents make him ideal. In a video, the streamer showed how the custom wheel controls function.

I ADDED A STEERING WHEEL TO LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

If you don’t turn the wheel, or leave it centered, Rammus won’t move. Gently tilting it left or right will make him move in that direction. Turning it further allows him to move downwards too.

Everything is functioning as expected, and you can even use a mouse that’s been configured to work with the controller settings,” he explained. However, there is one small catch.

Because the wheel can’t turn a full circle, he couldn’t move straight down. So, he created a “reverse” control to work around this limitation.

He demonstrated that you can still completely control Rammus while using Powerball (his Q). He maps his Q to the brake pedal and his ultimate (R) to the gas pedal, allowing for precise control during rolling.

TRIPLE KILL WITH A STEERING WHEEL IN LEAGUE 💀

As for why he did it, Dumbs said, “I just thought it would be funny to race in League of Legends.”

He playfully warned that once Riot Games adds WASD controls to ranked play, players should avoid anyone using the name ‘Rammus.’ He joked, ‘If you see that name, just run—it might be me struggling to control the game with a steering wheel!’

He even managed a triple kill during one game, which he shared on X. This isn’t the first time someone’s experimented with a strange controller setup in League of Legends – YouTuber Maxim famously played using a controller powered by milkshakes.
