At the premiere of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2, Kurt Russell expressed excitement about seeing how Goldie Hawn portrays Kong. The show is already a family project, with Kurt’s son, Wyatt Russell, playing a younger version of his character. Wyatt Russell told The Hollywood Reporter that working with his dad adds extra pressure. He explained that he wants the show to be exceptional because of their shared involvement, knowing the finished product will last forever and can’t be altered. Meanwhile, Kurt hopes to see even more family members join the MonsterVerse franchise.
Kurt Russell jokingly said he’d do anything to see how Wyatt Russell’s wife, Meredith Hagner, would react to Godzilla. He’s already thought about roles for most of his family in a monster movie! He thinks Goldie Hawn would be perfect as Kong, since she’s blonde, and believes Oliver Hudson should definitely be involved. His son, Boston, has been a huge help with the backstory and mythology of these monsters, contributing to a long-standing tradition. That leaves Kate Hudson as the only one without a role. Perhaps she’s too busy with her Oscar campaign or her popular TikTok account, but Kurt believes she’d be a natural as Mothra, given their both maternal figures.
