Jennifer Lawrence has a secret TikTok account, and her reason for having it is surprisingly relatable. The actress, known for winning an Oscar, is currently promoting her new film, Die My Love, where she appears with Robert Pattinson.
Jennifer Lawrence recently told Fandango that she secretly uses TikTok, but not for typical content. While discussing hidden fan interests with Robert Pattinson to promote their film Die My Love, she confessed to having an account specifically for posting things designed to provoke reactions – what’s often called ‘rage-baiting’.
“Do you have your own fans?” Pattinson asked. “Not exactly fans,” Lawrence replied. “I mostly just get into arguments on TikTok.” Pattinson chuckled and asked if she meant in the comments, and Lawrence admitted that she did. “I get into fights in the comments section,” she said, still laughing. “And one girl told me, ‘How old are you? Get a life!’”
Lawrence says it all started with lively discussions about pop culture, like shows such as Real Housewives and the Kardashians. The debates “really heated up” when she began sharing her thoughts on the British royal family. She pointed out that many people aren’t aware Queen Elizabeth II married her first cousin, adding, “That’s just a fact – they are cousins.”
Pattinson noticed that Lawrence appears to be involved in a very specific and unusual corner of TikTok. After defending herself against accusations that she was speaking negatively about the royal family, Lawrence jokingly admitted that she sometimes posts things specifically to provoke reactions on the platform. Lynne Ramsay, known for directing You Were Never Really Here, directs and co-wrote Die My Love. The film features Jennifer Lawrence as a new mother battling postpartum depression, and Robert Pattinson as her partner, as they both experience increasing mental instability. The cast also includes acclaimed actors LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, and Sissy Spacek.
Premiering at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and receiving a Palme d’Or nomination, Die My Love has been generally well-received by critics, earning a 77% score on Rotten Tomatoes. While some feel the film prioritizes visual flair over deep emotional impact, it’s being praised for its honest and intense depiction of a rarely seen world, and features a particularly powerful performance from Jennifer Lawrence.
Die My Love is now playing in theaters.
