The rumored feud between Paul Dano and Quentin Tarantino has sparked a lot of talk, and some are even wondering if what’s being said is actually true. Jack Black recently weighed in on Tarantino’s comments about Dano’s acting, playfully suggesting the criticism could actually help Dano’s career while promoting his new film, Anaconda, with Paul Rudd. Black jokingly speculated that there’s some personal animosity between the two. “I can’t believe anyone would say anything bad about Paul Dano,” he told CBR with a mischievous grin, implying a personal issue. To prove his point, Black then jokingly trashed his co-star, Paul Rudd, saying, “Paul Rudd is maybe the worst actor in SAG,” before quickly trying to stifle his laughter.
Earlier this month, Quentin Tarantino publicly criticized Paul Dano, calling him a poor actor and dismissing his performance in There Will Be Blood. He also briefly criticized Matthew Lillard and Owen Wilson. However, Tarantino’s comments about Dano were the most pointed, prompting many in Hollywood – including Ben Stiller and Ethan Hawke – to publicly praise Dano’s talent and work.
